The Department for Work and Pensions has announced it will scrap two legacy benefits as the Universal Credit rollout brings in two million more claimants. Some recipients will face no payment losses during the phase-out.
The DWP has also updated Personal Independence Payment evaluations. In addition, expanded bank monitoring powers will affect pensioners and claimants. The department is working to resolve historical errors that may entitle older women to State Pension back payments.
