Russia claims that its two-seat Su-57 jet will fly with onboard combat AI. Russia labeled this new twin-seat model the Su-57D. Military leaders designed the aircraft to counter Western fifth-generation fighters. Nonetheless, the Russian fleet of Su-57 jets remains modest.
In contrast, a small European country currently flies twice as many fifth-generation fighters as Russia. The difference in fleet size remains despite Russian intentions to incorporate combat AI technology into the Su-57D. Simple Flying and MiGFlug reported on the small fleet size in addition to the planned artificial intelligence features.
