Justice Samuel Alito has confirmed he is considering leaving the bench. If he retires, President Trump could nominate a successor to the Supreme Court. Alito has also expressed concern over the negative effect of political leaders' criticism on the Supreme Court. He has stated that such criticism can be extremely damaging to the institution.
