Harden played for Somerset between 1985 and 1998, and for Yorkshire in 1999-2000, including time in NZ. Later, he relocated to the country, manages a financial planning business. Rachel Reese is his wife, whom he backed in the Nelson mayoral race, wedding occurred in 2017; the couple have three children from prior marriages.
