Meta is set to hand over up to 18 billion US dollars to resolve actions brought by US states over social media addiction and harms to children.
The major deal resolves legal claims from California and other states concerning teen addiction across its online services.
Following the resolution, Meta also accepted major operational adjustments on Facebook and Instagram. This deal settles pending litigation in the United States centered on platform safety issues to children and teens.
