Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and sailors serving aboard the USS Tripoli returned to the United States on Wednesday. They finished tours assigned to the 5th and 7th Fleets. In parallel, a large number of Marines and sailors stationed in Okinawa headed back to Japan after missions related to the Iran situation. The Tripoli docked at its home port in Okinawa, ending its deployment. The U.S. Marines and the Royal Australian Air Force completed joint drills at Dyess under the Trident Fury program this week. In Vancouver, the police marine unit freed a week-old seal pup that was abandoned.
