The London Tornado of the year 1091 is notable for being the earliest documented English tornado. On October 17 that year, a significant tornado event occurred in London, resulting in severe destruction across the city. Reports indicate that the tornado caused significant damage to buildings, including the Church of Church of St Mary-le-Bow. The Church was completely leveled, with four 26-foot rafters driven deep into the ground. In addition, approximately six hundred wooden houses were completely destroyed, and only a small number of fatalities were recorded.
