Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Braydon Fisher was placed on bereavement leave Wednesday, allowing him to cope after his father, Don Fisher, died suddenly while traveling to support his child.

The unfortunately death occurred during the hard-fought Jays' series against the Nationals.

The club quickly announced the leave without hesitation.

Fisher issued a short statement saying his dad was an “amazing” man and that he is focused on his family.

He appreciated fans for kindness and said he will rejoin to the roster when the time is right.
