Anthony Mackie will move his West End production of Macbeth to Broadway, marking a return to theatre after a long absence. He will play the title role, with the run expected to continue until July 2027.

The production started on the West End stage before the Broadway transfer was picked up by theatre press. The move represents a big shift for a performer largely absent from the stage in recent years.

After his Broadway engagement ends, Mackie has confirmed he will film Avengers: Secret Wars, placing the superhero film in after his stage work finishes.
